TASK 01

A new constitution for the future (individual, country, world).
According to recent papers issued by the OECD, “International experience has shown there is no single model for the constitutional reform. A wide scope of modalities exists for amending and reforming a constitution […]. Each case is different and evolving.” (https://www.oecd.org/gov/public-governance-review-chile-2017.pdf, key finding Nº1, p. 25).

TASK 02

Erotica. For written narratives and graphic “novels”, consider writing in the genre–at least 1000 words or four pages, suitable for publication as an Amazon Kindle edition. There are helpful guides here and here. All task submissions will be considered for publication on Skeleton Man Press‘s forthcoming Bone Editions erotica imprint, at the discretion, of course, of the editor (ie, me). Finally, keep in mind that Kindle erotica is a thriving business, so this is really a great opportunity to make some quick cash and, perhaps, launch a new career. TASK 01

A weird object. Not weird because it looks weird or says something weird necessarily. The strangeness of the project is about how people behave in relation to it. How you actually use it or feel it or engage with it is uncertain, ambiguous, ambivalent, doubtful, circumspect, circuitous, or circumvented. Either/or, Neither/nor, Both/and. Between them lies the period of the transformation of the one into the other. Undefined, irregular, unsettled, precarious. What social functions will remain in existence there that are analogous to present functions? More or less modified, more or less transformed, more or less realized. I have now come to the end, for the appendix that now follows in the program does not constitute a characteristic component part of it. Hence, I can be very brief.

TASK 03

Penmanship – Your running hand
The root of the word cursive is the Latin cursus past participle of currere to run.
Letters do not have to be relentlessly connected.
Your running hand can have rapid legible handwriting that is semi-joined or perhaps uses few, if any joins.
The choice about joining is yours.

TASK 12

How does one wrap up a year’s worth of illuminating thought and practice? How to say goodbye to what has been and how to shift our gaze toward what is to come? My friends, that time is nigh: a time to reflect, a time to laugh, a time to cry, in other words, a time for everything under heaven. It is always bittersweet to traverse the threshold of the final chapter. And yet, it is our hope, no, our responsibility, to frame what has been, so that we can look ahead toward what will be. Hence, the vital nature of our task: you are hereby commended to construct a preface for the work of Collective Task. May God be with you!

I have in recent months been thinking about the import of celebratory energy in sustaining efforts towards radical change. We witnessed this phenomenon in the antiapartheid revolution and in current movements throughout Latin America. Recently, I felt it in the May Day demonstration in NYC’s Union Square. Bring fiesta to your revolution.

My October idea is to honor the spirit of Freecycle. That is, all materials used in the project must be used, borrowed, bartered or stolen. No money can change hands for the materials of your project. If you are someone who already freecycles materials in your usual practice, whether it is physical, linguistic, musical or other, please freecycle with a new material or in a new methodology.
